Bangalore man strangles His lover to Death

Bangalore:  The Bangalore police have nabbed an MCA student who killed his lover after she allegedly hankered him to marry her.

23-year-old Lallan Kumar started living at his sister Mamata's house after getting admission into for a MCA course at the Acharya Institute of Technology, in 2009. At the end of his first semester, Kumar decided to live separately so that he could study without disturbance.

Within a few days of moving into his new house, Kumar got acquainted with Latha K (35), his new neighbour. While Latha's husband works in Saudi Arabia, she lived in Bangalore along with her two school-going children. Their friendly relationship soon turned in to an affair.

Kumar started neglecting his studies and spent more and more time with Latha. He believed that their affair would end after her husband's return. But Latha had already decided to get a divorce, and marry Kumar. He never took it seriously.
On December 20, Latha called Kumar to her house at 10.30 pm. Since Kumar was preparing for his second semester exams the next day, he refused. Latha persisted, and he finally went over.

Around 2 am, Kumar woke up saying he would head back to study. Latha asked him to stay back, saying that she would commit suicide otherwise, and tied a towel to her neck. Kumar, already angry at the turn of events said that he would help her die, and strangled her.

He then fled to Bihar. On being questioned, the children named Kumar as being the last person to have visited their home the previous night. After tracking Kumar's mobile phone, a team arrested him from his village.

Centre to probe if any official leaked information to Radia

The Centre would probe whether any official information was leaked to corporate lobbyist Niira Radia by BJP General Secretary Ananth Kumar when he was the Civil Aviation Minister during NDA regime, Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs V Narayanasamy said today.
“The government at the Centre will investigate and find out whether any official decision was leaked to Radia by Mr. Kumar when he was Civil Aviation Minister during NDA regime. The sharing of official information is an anti national act,” Mr. Narayanasamy told reporters here today.
Mr. Narayanasamy said Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar has called for an all party meeting in New Delhi on December 30 and 31 to sort out the issue regarding the stalling of the Parliament.
Terming the BJP’s action of stalling Parliament proceedings for 22 days consecutively demanding a JPC probe into the 2G spectrum issue as “anti—democratic”, he said “Its (BJP) decision to stall the Parliament is also a political one“.
He said the Centre had incurred a loss of Rs 33 crore due to the stalling of Parliament proceedings for 22 days by the opposition parties.
“Many of the parties demanding for JPC probe in the 2G spectrum scam issue may not be able to have their representative in the JPC since a political party needed at least 17 members in the Parliament to have its nominee in it”, he said.
Claiming that Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has ample of powers to investigate 2G spectrum allotment and the loss incurred to the government, he said all the central agencies including CBI, Enforcement Directorate and Income Tax department would assist the PAC.
To a question why the Congress was adamant on not to set up a JPC to probe the spectrum issue, Mr. Narayanasamy said “going by the past experience, the JPC probe is ineffective.” “The JPCs that probed the Bofors gun deal, the two securities/stock market scams and the pesticides in Colas did not come out with any bigger findings”, he said.

The sisters say they aren’t compelled to play gospel music because of their background. Rather ‘we are here to ignite a desire to embrace wholesome lyrics in place of the jabber that constitutes modern-day pop music”, Jemima explains.

It is this classical case of humility and self denial which hallmarked the entire life of Christ that we should emulate today and always as we celebrate.

We are gratified to know that you are now happier as Ondo State has started enjoying
the real dividends of democracy and with your prayers and unflinching support, we shall all sing Hosanna.
“I salute your courage in the face of persecutions, your resilience and your steadfastness and your patient with us while we try to put our State on sure footings despite attempts to thwart our good intentions. God be with you all and Merry Christmas. Next year will be our year of bountiful harvests in Jesus Name.”

Nigerian Heavyweight Title Contender Dies

Nigerian wrestler dies fighting for title

Tragedy hit the indoor sports hall of the National Lagos Stadium in Surulere on Sunday when national heavyweight title contender, Lion Man, slumped and died shortly after losing the belt to Power Lee via a technical knockout.

Lion Man, whose real name could not be ascertained at press time, came into the fight hoping to win the belt he lost to Osita Offor, also known as De Ultimate Commander, about five years ago.

Unfortunately, he could not live to even receive the consolation from those that felt he gave his all in the tragic fight. The pugilist, whose wife is said to be five months pregnant, jumped into the ring with the mien of somebody eager to dispatch his opponent quickly.

But he met strong resistance from Power Lee, who after the initial moments of the fight, began to pummel the visibly unfit challenger.
And to save Lion Man from further punishment, the ring judges stopped the fight, but it came too late.

Shortly after the Enugu State-born wrestler trudged off the ring, news filtered in that he had slumped and died just outside the venue of the championship. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was certified dead by doctors.

Reacting to the incident, President of the Nigerian Wrestling Board of Control (NWB of C), Everest Ofoegbu, said it was an unfortunate development that could have been avoided if all the wrestlers had adhered strictly to the rules of the sport. “We try to preach the safety in wrestlers being physically fit for every competition, but at the end you still find some people not adhering to the rules,” he said. “We will find a way of monitoring the fitness of our wrestlers to avoid future occurrence of such sad incidents. This is really unfortunate.”

Meanwhile, in the main event of the day, De Ultimate Commander defeated American Shelton Benjamin and Warlord to become the new Universal Pro-Wrestling Federation (UPWF) champion in a three-way fight decided by knockout.

Another American, The Barbarian, beat his compatriot, Katanka, by a pin-fall, the same way Mike Mondo defeated Jeff Lee in the main supporting bout of the night. America’s tallest woman wrestler, Lindsay Hayward, lost to her compatriot, Trenesha Biggers, just as Nigeria’s The Executioner defeated Congo’s Shakabula.
